Run setup on your computer
npx portals-host setupIt finds your agents and keeps the host running.

Scan the code
With your iPhone’s Camera, then tap Add. On a Mac, setup opens it for you.
On Linux
- Run setup from your own login, not
sudo -u. - Say yes when setup offers to turn on lingering, so the host keeps running after you log out.
- No browser?
claudeandcodex login --device-authgive you a link to open elsewhere.
Using Portals
Start a thread
Tap New thread, pick an agent and a folder, say what to do.
Steer it
Send a message while it works to change course.
Approve
Commands and edits wait on a card until you allow them.
/ and @
Type / for commands, @ for files. Attach pictures.
Notifications
You’re told when an agent is done or needs you.
More computers
Run setup on each. Every device reaches all of them.
Agents together
Ask “start a Codex thread to review this”.
Updates
“Update available” shows when a new host is out.
If something doesn’t work
Can’t reach your computer
Is it awake, with Tailscale on? Check npx portals-host status.
An agent is missing
Run setup again.
Sign-in fails
Show the code again with npx portals-host pair.
